CORODUR® E WZ 54

CLASSIFICATION

DIN EN 14700
E Fe3

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

Coated electrode for heat resistant armorings on tools which need to resist to abrasion and impact stress. Due to the deposit’s high toughness, hardness and heat resistance. CORODUR E WZ 54 is used for reclaiming hot working tools which are subject to abrasion and impact with few shock stress. The deposited alloy is heat resistant up to 500° C approx. The weld metal can only be
machined by grinding. Prior to surfacing with CORODUR E WZ 54 the area to be welded should be preheated to 250 – 400°C, depending on the thickness of the workpiece and the alloy of the base metal. Slowly cool down the workpiece; cover with insulating material, if necessary.

APPLICATION

Typical applications: Strippers, deburring tools, metal sheet blanking dies, hot-shear cutters, slides, valves, forging dies, lathe centres, slide tracks, cold- and hot cutting tools, extruder pistons etc.
