CORODUR® E WZ 59

CLASSIFICATION

DIN EN 14700
E Fe4

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

Heavy coated AC-weldable electrode with high recovery (150 %) for repairing hot working tools made of steels of same or similar type. The deposited weld metal is highly resistant to extreme abrasive wear as well as medium shock and impact. It also excels by good edge-holding quality. Max. service temperature is approx. 450°C. The weld metal structure can still be improved by subsequent heat treatment.

APPLICATION

Typical applications: shear blades, dies, upper and lower dies, mandrel plugs, hammer mills, swages, crushing and pulverising plants, cutting edges etc.

CLASSIFICATION

DIN EN 14700
E Fe4

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

Heavy coated AC-weldable electrode with 150 % recovery, designed for hardfacing high-speed steel tools and low alloyed base materials and for reinforcing cutting edges. The weld metal has good tempering properties and allows heat treatment like other high-speed steels of similar composition.

APPLICATION

Typical applications: slotting and threading tools, spiral drills, reamers, and milling cutters (for materials over 880 N/mm²).

CORODUR® E WZ 54

CLASSIFICATION

DIN EN 14700
E Fe3

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

Coated electrode for heat resistant armorings on tools which need to resist to abrasion and impact stress. Due to the deposit’s high toughness, hardness and heat resistance. CORODUR E WZ 54 is used for reclaiming hot working tools which are subject to abrasion and impact with few shock stress. The deposited alloy is heat resistant up to 500° C approx. The weld metal can only be
machined by grinding. Prior to surfacing with CORODUR E WZ 54 the area to be welded should be preheated to 250 – 400°C, depending on the thickness of the workpiece and the alloy of the base metal. Slowly cool down the workpiece; cover with insulating material, if necessary.

APPLICATION

Typical applications: Strippers, deburring tools, metal sheet blanking dies, hot-shear cutters, slides, valves, forging dies, lathe centres, slide tracks, cold- and hot cutting tools, extruder pistons etc.

CLASSIFICATION

DIN EN 14700
E Fe3

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

AC-weldable high-quality electrode with approx. 120 % recovery. Used for repairing steels of same type, e.g. on hot working tools, and for overlaying edges or surfaces of tools made of low alloyed high density steels. Typical applications: slab shears, hot shear blades, drawing blocks, hot-forging dies, impact moulding dies, containers, swages etc. Preheating- and interpass temperature should be held between 300 and 450°C, depending on the base metal and its heat abduction. The upper temperature limit should be chosen for thick workpieces. Low-tension welding and low heat input are essential for a good welding result. Slowly cool down in sand or oven.
